Cosmos Ch.1 — Beyond the Exosphere

The Cats of the Cosmos opener — Aliens become the dominant trait and Starred Alien variants debut. Treasures replace Cat Combos as the chapter-wide stat system.
The third major story arc, picking up after Empire of Cats and Into the Future. Where ItF taught players to pack Anti-Alien specialists, Cosmos hammers it home: nearly every enemy in the chapter carries the Alien trait, and a new tier — Starred Aliens — debuts with HP and damage scaling that punishes lineups built for ItF.
Three boss archetypes define Ch.1. UltraBaaBaa carries the highest Barrier HP in the game at 266,000 — Barrier Breakers stop being a luxury and become required. Kid Tappa is a deceptively low-HP wall that grinds down lineups through attrition rather than burst. Ribbo combines a 65k Barrier with a 100% Warp at 400–550 range, demanding both Barrier Breakers and Warp-Immune backliners on the same team.
Treasures are the chapter's hidden progression layer. Each cluster of 4–5 stages unlocks a stat buff that applies across the entire CotC arc — skip the farm, and Ch.2 and Ch.3 become mathematically harder. The final three clusters (Neutrino, Mystery Mask, Big Bang) gate the chapter finale and set up the Cat God encounter waiting in Ch.2.
