STRATEGY
Malevolent Dark Cat's Shield effectively doubles his health and he curses whatever he hits, backed by a midranger, a backliner and many melee Aku pushers.
- Shield Piercers (Cat Researcher) are highly recommended; Cone Cat is the meatshield — Aku resistance and Curse immunity — while Cat Cactus gets cursed into a cash drain unless something curses Malevolent Dark first.
- True Form Esoteric Uril makes the stage trivial, but his hits trigger Counter-Surges, so pair him with Surge-immune units.
- Money is fine thanks to constant Devil Wives; a Money Up unit (Talented Can Can, Bullet Train) sniping them pays out in lumps.

CONE CAT A Cone Cat - An excellent meatshield in this stage, Cone Cat's resistance against Aku works very well as every enemy in the stage is within its target traits. Its Curse Immunity dismisses Malevolent Dark Cat's primary ability, allowing it to continue holding the front as your remaining units rain fire from behind. Maize 
BOULDER CAT A Boulder Cat - Boulder's extreme health as well as Slow/Surge/Wave Immunity ensures nothing gets past during its brief lifetime. It is often useful as a defensive support option, and is best combined with research combos to increase its uptime in case if your other meatshields fail.

Uril also has Curse and Surge immunity to top him off. 
BRAINWASHED MOHAWK CAT B Brainwashed Mohawk Cat - Having his True Form will make this stage a lot easier, as being immune to curse allows it to dodge attacks from Malevolent Dark as well as the other Aku enemies. 
KASLI, DAUGHTER OF CHAOS S Kasli, Daughter of Chaos - A backline Long Distance attacker built for damage, her curse ability can completely shut down Malevolent Dark Cat's main gimmick once its Shield comes down, allowing Cat Cactus free reign. Her Surges are indeed duped by Malevolent Dark Cat without the Shield, and while she is immune to them,
