STRATEGY
The Shy Boys are stronger than in Berserk and shred alongside Manic Dark Cat, while Dark Emperor Nyandam nukes what they miss and a J.K. Bun Bun arrives later — the buffed Reds are the real threat.
- Bring many anti-Red units, above all Courier Cat (690¢, fast recharge, ~11K DPS to Reds at level 30) — but Manic Dark Cat outranges him and can stun-lock him.
- Sanzo Cat's Slow stalls the Shy Boys and later the J.K. Bun Bun; he is frail, so keep him covered. iCat plays the same role.

This enemy has rapid, powerful attacks at medium range, with enough freeze uptime to render its targets completely helpless, making it a very tough adversary. However, it's the least of your worries in its appearances compared to the nasty threats backed by it.
CATS TO BRING 
COURIER CAT A Courier Cat - With a disposable 690¢ cost, fast recharge, and 11K DPS against Red enemies at level 30, Courier will make quick work of any red enemy on this stage, making the fight much easier. Be warned though as Manic Dark Cat outranges it, which means it can lock Courier in a stun loop and kill them. 
SANZO CAT A Sanzo Cat - Should be a no-brainer, Sanzo's slow ability is crucial to stalling the shy boys and eventually the JK Bun Bun that comes out of the base. Be very careful, however, as Sanzo is quite frail and will die easily if unprotected. 
ICAT A iCat - Similar to Sanzo, however with less range and even more fragile. Freeze is a better status effect than slowed, however iCat's usage in this stage will be very limited due to its short range and freeze uptime. 
KING DRAGON CAT B King Dragon/Crazed Dragon Cat - Very powerful unit when stacked, both dragon variants are able to outrange Manic Dark and can deal continuous chip damage to all of the threats in this stage. 
CRAZED DRAGON CAT A King Dragon/Crazed Dragon Cat - Very powerful unit when stacked, both dragon variants are able to outrange Manic Dark and can deal continuous chip damage to all of the threats in this stage. 
CYBORG CAT S Cyborg Cat - Despite not being able to outrange Dark, a small stack of Cyborg Cats can help kill the Shy Boys significantly faster. 
CRAZED BAHAMUT CAT A Crazed Bahamut Cat - Same reason as the dragons, albeit harder to stack. Bahamut is able to deliver a very powerful attack every 20 seconds that can and most likely will cripple most melee pushers. His main issue is his TBA, which is 20 seconds, so make sure you protect him well. Ururun Wolf will not work as well in th 
GLASS CAT B Glass Cat (Rare Cat) - If timed well, glass cat can slow Manic Dark for quite some time. Especially effective if macho crystal cat is acquired, as his knockback can keep Manic Dark out of the battle for a while. Just make sure to time him right or he will be wasted on a peon. 
CATMAN A Catman - Despite not having massive damage against red enemies, he can greatly help you in this stage, not only because he makes dealing with the Floating enemies much easier, but because he outranges Manic Dark Cat as well. Beware, however, that Dark Emperor Nyandam can easily take him out if not protected properly. 
KASLI THE BANE S Kasli the Bane - With her high curse uptime, she can curse Manic Dark preventing its powerful freeze. Her long distance can also hit every enemy in this stage including Dark Emperor Nyandam and having immense general damage to all enemies in the stage, greatly reducing the difficulty of this stage. 
HITMAN CAT A Hitman Cat: Deals massive damage to Traitless enemies Also fits “Clear the crowd.” 
BOWLER CAT A The Slow lands on Traitless enemies — great for stalling the many Traitless bosses across Empire of Cats and Into the Future. 
DRILLER CAT A 100% Weakens Traitless to 10% and (True) Strong vs Traitless. Also fits “Out-range Manic Dark Cat.” 
D'ARKTANYAN S Strong Against Traitless on a Long-Distance area attack — answers the many Traitless bosses. Also fits “Clear the crowd.”
